Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress who is best known for the films Beta Saajan, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Her first fame was her 1980s role in Tezaab where she co-starred with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Then she appeared in the film Dil in which she was on screen alongside Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance from a very young age. As a teen, she attempted acting, however most of those early films failed. She found fame and became one of India's top movie actresses. She took a break from her career following her marriage before returning to the industry of entertainment. In recent times, she was in a prominent role in Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was awarded 8 Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is the fourth most prestigious civil award in India. The award was also given to her by the social sector.
